Lobbyist Registration System – Call To Action

Counsellor Mike Layton has advised us that the Executive Committee of City Council has asked the City Manager to draft a report on the requirements of having community groups, like our residents association, register as lobbyists before contacting their own city councillor.  This would create a cumbersome regime that would be a burden for community groups and would deter many from engaging with their city councillors.  Non-profit organizations like DCARA are not like corporations lobbying the city for their own private interests.

The DCARA Board is encouraging you to email the City Clerk at the link below before May 3 and express your opposition: clerk@toronto.ca
